Social rehabilitation services for people with visual impairments

Free rehabilitation services to help people with partial or total sight loss learn and develop the skills they need for daily living

We help learn and develop the skills that are needed for everyday life.

The team at the Rehabilitation Centre is a multidisciplinary team of professionals with decades of experience. We use methods and techniques developed by ourselves and borrowed from our colleagues abroad, the main aim of which is to help people with partial or total sight loss to acquire and improve the skills they need for everyday life:

  • cooking;
  • move safely indoors and on the street;
  • handle money, shop;
  • keep their clothes and home tidy;
  • use a computer and a mobile phone, using ‘talking’ and magnifying software;
  • exercise their creativity by making various handicrafts – beading, basket weaving, pin making, felting;
  • read and write in Braille;
  • use various technical aids.

You can also:

  • exercise in a gym;
  • receive counselling from a psychologist, social worker and other specialists.

Our specialists will also provide advice and support to relatives and family members of visually impaired people.

Rehabilitation sessions are held individually or in small groups.

LNBRC is the only institution in Latvia providing social rehabilitation services for people with visual disabilities
